Frozen Shoulder
What is a Frozen Shoulder?
A frozen shoulder is an injury to the shoulder joint. It usually begins with pain and stiffness that increasingly worsens until completely disappearing. The shoulder joint is also surrounded by tissue that holds everything together. The shoulder capsule is what it’s known as.
The capsule thickens and tightens with the frozen shoulder, making it difficult to move. Scar tissue forms in the joint, and synovial fluid, which keeps the joint lubricated, is decreased. These things make it much more difficult to move around.
Symptoms
One will most likely experience a dull or achy pain in one shoulder when you have a frozen shoulder. It’s possible that the shoulder muscles that wrap over the top of your arm are in discomfort as well. It’s possible that you’re experiencing a similar sensation in your upper arm. There are also chances that pain will worsen at night, making it difficult to sleep.
Rotator Cuff Tear
What is a Rotator Cuff Tear?
A tear in the group of four muscles and tendons that stabilize your shoulder joint and allow you to raise and twist your arms is known as a rotator cuff injury.
It’s a common injury in sports like baseball and tennis. It normally happens due to normal wear and tears. It might happen unexpectedly if you fall on your arm or carry something heavy.
The doctor will most likely start with a combination of treatments, such as:
- Physical treatment to strengthen the shoulder muscles
- Anti-inflammatory medicines and paracetamol are two medications that can aid with pain and swelling.
Symptoms
Recurrent Dislocations
What is Recurrent Dislocations?
Repeated dislocations of the shoulder are referred to as recurrent dislocations. Those with unsteady shoulder or shoulder instability have a tendency for recurrent (repeated) dislocation or displacement. Shoulder instability can occur as a result of a traumatic dislocation (after a fall or damage to the shoulder), systemic ligament loosening, or gradual stretching of the joint capsule as a result of a recurrent injury.
Shoulder Impingement
What is Shoulder Impingement?
The common cause of shoulder pain is shoulder impingement syndrome. It happens when the muscles or fluid in the shoulder are intruded on by the bones of the shoulder. Shoulder overhead exercise, particularly repetitive activity, is a risk factor for shoulder impingement syndrome.
Symptoms
Day Care Surgery
What is Day Care Surgery?
Day-care treatment is a procedure that allows patients (out-patients) to heal quickly from operation and be ready to return home.
Patients who require a surgical operation but do not require an overnight stay in the hospital are eligible for Day Care surgeries. Some patients will require an overnight stay (in-patients) while others will be able to return home the same day, depending on the operation (out-patients)
Shoulder Replacement or Resurfacing
What is Shoulder Replacement?
Shoulder replacement is less frequent, but it is just as effective at reducing joint discomfort and is now utilized to treat a variety of severe shoulder disorders.
